Choose Among Roy People Directories
Each official or library directory answers a narrow question. School pages identify current staff. Government rosters show public roles. Parcel and recorder tools connect names to land records but do not prove residence. Professional indexes verify a license or entity. Historical collections work best when a year, old address, school or family relationship is already known.
| Directory source | People or names listed | Keeper | Way in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roy official rosters | Elected, appointed and department leaders | Roy City | Free pages and meeting packets |
| Roy High staff | Teachers, counselors and school staff | Weber School District | Free name and department search |
| State employee phone book | Utah public servants | State of Utah | Exact first and last name required |
| Weber parcel roll | Indexed property owners | Weber County | Free owner, address or parcel search |
| Professional and entity indexes | Licensees, entities and registered agents | Utah Commerce agencies | Free basic searches |
| Polk city directories | Past residents, spouses and businesses | Weber State Stewart Library | Open digital collection and reading room |
| Archives name indexes | Census, birth and early court names | Utah State Archives | Free name indexes and series copies |
Start with the source closest to the known fact. A school role points to the district directory, an owner name to the parcel roll, and a past street address to a dated Polk volume. A no-hit can mean the wrong year or record type, not that the person had no Roy connection.
Search Roy School Staff Directories
The Roy High staff directory is the strongest current name-search tool found for the city. It supports a staff-name filter, a department selector, page numbers, Previous and Next controls, and a jump-to-page option. Because staff can change, use the live result instead of relying on an old copied name.
| Directory control | Format | Needed | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search | Text | No | Filters the list by staff name |
| Select Departments | Dropdown | No | Limits staff by department |
| Previous / Next | Pagination | No | Moves through result pages |
| Jump to Page | Pagination | No | Opens a selected result page |
A result supplies enough context to separate two staff members with similar names. The visible entry inventory is:
- Identity: photograph and full name
- Role: position or staff title
- Campus: school name, shown as Roy High for this directory
- Contact: telephone and district email
Roy High is at 2150 W 4800 S and lists 801-476-3600. Roy Junior High uses department browsing instead, with areas such as Administration, Counseling, Office, Library, Math, Science, Nutrition and Support.
The Weber School District site is the wider navigation point for these school directories.
The district gateway provides the institutional context needed to distinguish a Roy school result from another Weber campus with a similar staff name.
Use Roy Government Directories and Rosters
No unified Roy employee name search with stable fields was found. The sound route begins at the Roy City department gateway, then moves to elected rosters, department contacts, the official municipal code, and public meeting packets. Those pages can identify officials, appointees and department leadership. For a missing name, call the department main line or send a focused request to the city recorder instead of treating an unofficial phone listing as current.
The city gateway is the verified source behind the current Roy directory route.
The capture shows why the municipal path is a department directory and contact chain, not a searchable list of every worker.
Utah's state employee phone book is narrower in another way. Its form requires both Last Name and First Name before Search. The notice bars mailing-list and commercial marketing uses. Research did not find a county-wide employee search, so the Weber County services index, department pages, and public rosters remain the official county fallback.
Note: Verify every current government name on the live agency page because assignments and elected roles can change between saved copies.
Read Roy Property Directories With Care
The Weber County parcel search works like an owner directory with three entry modes: nine-digit parcel number, owner name, or address. An owner search can begin with a surname. An address search may work better with only the house number, while a complete address should use standard postal suffixes. Results connect Recorder, Assessor and Treasurer data.
These are ownership records, not a directory of occupants. The owner or tax-notice mailing address can differ from the property address in Roy. A trust or spouse may carry the indexed owner label. Parcel and GIS fields may include owner, mailing and situs locations, parcel number, values, acreage, subdivision, improvement facts and a privacy flag. Any restricted display must be respected.
Directory term: A situs address is where the parcel lies. A mailing address is where tax notices go. Neither field by itself proves where a person lives.
For a historical owner, save the parcel number and plat clues, then move to the recorder's pre-1980 abstracts, paid current title system or public counter. The detailed access and copy rules belong in the Roy public records guide.
Professional and Business Directories for Roy
Utah maintains several role-based name indexes. The Division of Professional Licensing verification service supports license confirmation and discipline research. Its discipline search accepts one field labeled Entity Name OR License Number. The Construction Business Registry adds Basic and Advanced modes, trade and scope filters, company text, license number, city, state and ZIP, but only active licensees who opted in appear.
The Division of Corporations entity search can connect an entity name with status, registered agent and business address. Utah's real estate and appraisal lookup accepts a name plus profession or a license number, with begins-with and contains choices. The Utah Bar maintains an attorney directory, while the federal District of Utah bar check accepts last name, optional first name or Utah Bar number and allows an asterisk for partial names.
No verified public Roy business-license register or official Roy Chamber people roster was located. A defined city license list can be requested from Roy, but a statewide entity record should not be confused with proof that a storefront currently operates at a local address.
Trace Families in Roy Polk Directories
Weber State Stewart Library provides the clearest historical directory run. The digitized Polk collection spans regional volumes from 1870 through 1987. Catalog titles explicitly include Roy in 1974-1984 and 1986-2009, while a current Polk title continues from 2011 to the present. Earlier regional volumes may help, but each book must be checked because Roy is not named in every title.
| Directory period | Catalog description | Access point |
|---|---|---|
| 1870-1987 | Regional digitized collection | Open online |
| 1895-1928 | Ogden title sequence | Digital or Special Collections |
| 1929-1942 | Later Ogden title sequences | Collection and catalog |
| 1944-1973 | Weber County title | Check the individual volume |
| 1974-2009 | Roy explicitly named in verified runs | Digital and later holdings |
| 2011-present | Current Polk title | Stewart Library catalog |
The collection page provides the visual entry into those volumes.
A dated entry may list head of household, residence, occupation, spouse, business partners, a prior resident's death notation, or a forwarding post office and address. Those details support family history and reconnection work when adjacent years are compared.
Historical Roy Directories Beyond Polk
A directory trail grows stronger when another record type confirms it. The Utah Archives name-index directory leads to a 28-page, name-linked Weber County 1850 census in Series 28891, with name, gender, age, birthplace and occupation. The Weber birth register index in Series 5107 covers 1898-1905. Probate Court civil and criminal case files in Series 1593 span 1852-1887, with registers of actions in Series 83901 for 1868-1887.
Stewart Special Collections also holds yearbooks from 1905-1982, alumni material, Weber and Davis oral histories, Roy Buildings by Street, WWI service cards and Hill Aerospace oral histories. Roy cemetery records appear in the Archives agency catalog, although no official live interment-name search was found. Ask the city or Archives for the relevant register, then use a gravestone index only as secondary support.
Historical directory era: Weber organized in 1850, Roy incorporated in 1937, Roy High opened in 1965, and Roy first appears explicitly in verified Polk titles in 1974.
Roy Newspaper and Library Name Directories
Weber County Library's research page filters resources by title, audience and subjects such as Directories, Genealogy and Newspapers. Its newspaper guide points to local and historical sources, including Utah Digital Newspapers coverage from 24 papers in Ogden, Roy, North Ogden and Ogden Valley. Search a full name, initials, spouse, street and organization because community notices often vary the form of a name.
The library page is the verified gateway for that regional newspaper trail.
Obituaries, school activity, legal notices, reunion items and organization news can bridge a gap between two directory years. Ancestry Library Edition is available only in the library, and the public site does not establish physical reverse-directory, obituary-index or microfilm year spans.
Phone and Community Directory Limits in Roy
Historical Polk books sometimes include phone numbers and geographically arranged pages. A 1959 digitized volume is described as alphabetical and geographical, but the catalog does not prove that a formal reverse or criss-cross section exists in every run. Later print directories continue in Special Collections, where staff can help identify the relevant volume without promising a specific phone-book year.
No authoritative current carrier white pages, neighborhood association, congregation, civic club or Roy Chamber people roster was verified. Weber County Library's Reference Solutions is a business directory, not a residential phone book. For community history, use named newspaper collections, oral histories and the Weber County Heritage Foundation's preservation context instead of presenting a private membership list as public.
Note: A phone number in an old directory belongs to that dated edition and should not be treated as current contact information.
Why Roy Directory Geography Changes the Result
Three systems can describe one location differently. Roy controls physical address assignment inside the incorporated city. Weber County maintains parcel identity, ownership linkage and the tax-notice mailing address. The Postal Service separately controls mail recognition. A directory search should preserve both the property and mailing versions instead of merging them into one assumed residence.
Time also shifts the boundary. Weber County changed lines several times in the nineteenth century, and Roy became a city in 1937. A modern Roy label does not prove an older event was indexed under Roy. For an ancestor or former resident, verify the event-year jurisdiction, then check the successor office and the corresponding Archives series. This geography check is often what turns an apparent directory gap into a usable record trail.
